Tax Tip #246: Property Tax Deduction on Schedule E

Real estate taxes on rental property are fully deductible on Schedule E with no cap. The $10,000 SALT deduction limit applies only to personal property taxes on Schedule A. If you pay $8,000/year in property taxes on your rental, the full $8,000 is deductible against rental income, reducing your taxable rental profits dollar for dollar.
